Volleyball team stops two-game skid with win

The Utah State women’s volleyball team ended its two-game losing streak Monday night with a four-game win over Louisiana Tech.

The Aggies came out on top in the first two games, winning 30-27 and 30-17. But they were unable to get the sweep, dropping the third game to the Lady Techsters 24-30. But the Aggies came back and won the final game, holding out down the stretch for the 32-30 win.

Zuzana Cernianska, who set the record for single-season kills last week, led the way for the Aggies with 16 kills. She now has more than 500 kills for the season.

Aggie Carolyn Forbush was the only other player in double-digits for Utah State, putting up 15 kills for USU.

Erin Graybill, who, with 157 total blocks this year, is now the leader for Utah State in single-season blocking, had seven blocks for the night.

The Aggies, now tied for third in the WAC with Nevada after their loss Saturday to New Mexico State, improved to 18-11 overall with the win.

The Aggies have one more game left in their regular season. The Ags host Nevada Saturday night at 7 p.m. in the Spectrum.
