Lyndy Agee Named USU Graduate Assistant Soccer Coach

Utah State women’s soccer head coach Heather Cairns announced Tuesday that Lyndy (Goodsell) Agee has been hired as the graduate assistant coach for the Aggies for the 2007 season. Agee was the 2002 soccer captain and a four-year letterwinner for Utah State from 1999-2002.

“We’re excited for Lyndy to rejoin Aggie soccer,” Cairns said. “She was a huge part in building the foundation of this program and we’re looking forward to adding her love of the game and competitive spirit to the coaching staff. Her assets will make the team better prepared for the conference title.”

Agee started 45 out of the 61 matches she played in as a defender for USU. She earned Academic all-Big West honors three years in a row (2000-2002) and was named team Defensive MVP. In her last two seasons, she played and started in 18 matches.

Agee is returning to soccer after a year of absence after spending the fall of 2005, as an assistant soccer coach at Mountain Crest High School in Hyrum, Utah. In the fall of 2004, Agee was an assistant coach at Logan High School. During her two years as an assistant at both schools she planned practices and meetings, arranged fundraisers, monitored grades and class attendance and also helped coach at games.

For the past eight years, Agee has helped coach the Utah State Soccer camps. She has also coached for the Valencia Futbol Club and trained small groups of all ages on technical and tactical skills. Agee has also helped coachsoccer at USA Sports in Hyde Park, Utah.

Agee graduated from Utah State in 2003 with a bachelor¹s degree in liberal arts and sciences and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She graduated in 1999 from Sky View High School where she was captain of the soccer team. She ismarried to Kevin Agee and they have a son, Drew.
