Fire caused by lightning
On Thursday, July 5, 2007 at 9:10 PM, 3 Brush Trucks and Tender fromHyrum, 1 Brush Truck from Paradise, 1 brush truck from Wellsville, 2Brush Trucks from Weber County, 2 Brush Trucks from the Forest Serviceand 2 Brush Trucks and a Battalion Chief from Cache County, all underthe direction of Deputy Chief Craig Humphreys, responded to a Brush Firealong Ant Flat Road near Cold Water Ranch.
After receiving a call from a wildlife resource officer of a lightningstrike starting a fire, Public Safety Dispatch Center dispatched a brushassignment to the area.
The first arriving firefighters found 50 acres of medium grass/brushburning. With some wind to aid the fire, firefighters are currentlyworking to established fire lines along the flanks.
The fire is still uncontained at this time. There currently are noinjuries to report at this time.
The incident commander asks that the public avoid travelling in thisarea to help ensure firefighter and the public’s safety.
