Åggie tennis goes 2-1 in Reno

After defeating the San Jose State Spartans Friday and the Idaho Vandals Saturday, the USU women’s tennis team boosted its record to 6-7.

Both matches were played in Reno, Nev.

The Aggies have now won four of their last seven matches.

The Aggies beat SJSU 4-3. They won the doubles point thank to Lauren and Erin Monson winning their match, 8-6, as well as Bridgette Strickland and Dee-Dee Nelson triumphing in their other doubles match, 9-7.

Courtney Anderson won her singles match at the No. 1 spot, 6-3, 6-7, 6-3.

Monson won her match at the No. 2 spot, and Nelson was the only other Aggie winning in singles, holding her No. 4 spot.

The Aggies won 4-3 over the Vandals.

The Monson sisters again held strong in their No. 1 doubles spot, winning 9-7.

Anderson and Brianna Harris teamed up at the No. 2 spot, coming out victorious by a score of 9-8 to secure the doubles point for the Aggies.

In singles play, Anderson again won at No. 1 in three sets, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3.

Erin Monson won in two sets at No. 2, and Nelson came back from a one-game deficit to win her match, 4-6, 6-1, 6-3.
