Class Excusal Policy
I’m writing in regards to the school excusal policy. I had an experience about a year ago where I received a formal letter of excusal signed by my advisor in Utah State’s name for a leadership conference I was attending. Most of my professors didn’t even need the letter and were willing to work with me, but one professor was not willing to let me make up a quiz and attendance points that would be given on the day that I was to be absent. I don’t understand why there are official university excusal letters when professors don’t have an obligation to work with the student in making up the work.
