POLICE BLOTTER: Nov. 18 to Nov. 22
Friday, Nov. 18
• USU Police spoke with spouses of USU’s active military members about local crime trends, emergency management and self-defense.
Saturday, Nov. 19
• USU Police responded to a vehicle fire at 700 N. 610 East in Logan. Police arrived and found smoke coming from the vehicle. As fire units arrived, flames also ignited. The Logan Fire Department put the fire out. Logan City Police had the vehicle towed for further investigation.
• USU Police responded to the Bee Lab for an intrusion alarm. USU plumbers working in the building set the alarm off, and the alarm was disabled for the day.
Sunday, Nov. 20
• USU Police assisted Logan Police on a delayed report by establishing a perimeter and stopping several individuals in the area of a possible auto burglary. It was determined that no crimes occurred and no one was located near the scene.
• USU Police responded to a suspicious person incident on Old Main Hill. Police made contact with the suspects who were two juveniles and determined everything was OK.
Monday, Nov. 21
• USU Police assisted Logan Police on a search of two auto burglary suspects who later ran from police. USU Police assisted in pursuing one suspect, who was tracked through snow and later located and arrested by Logan Police. Both suspects were arrested.
• USU Police assisted the Logan City Police in looking for someone throwing snowballs at passing vehicles in the area of Darwin Avenue. Police searched the area and were unable to locate the culprits.
Tuesday, Nov. 22
• USU Police responded to a report of throwing “missiles” — snowballs — at Valley View Tower. Before police arrived, the suspects in the case fled the area in a silver sports car with a spoiler.
• USU Police responded to a medical incident at Old Main Hill. Police made contact with the patient who was a juvenile with a bloody nose. The patient was released to his parents.
