LETTER: Parking has more options
Editor,
I was disappointed to read the front page article in the March 3 Utah Statesman about the loss of parking due to the new recital hall. The article said Lisa Leishman, director of Parking and Transportation Services, presented five options that are being considered to recover the lost parking. Nowhere did it mention an option of building underground parking as part of the construction. That option certainly wouldn’t have to wait 10 years for completion, and the parking department wouldn’t have to lose $25,000 in annual revenue.
“If you build it, they will come.” Let’s make sure there is a place to park when they do come and as well for students, staff and faculty to come and go on a daily basis – not just for performances.
