UPDATE: USU leads FSU at halftime

    RENO, NV — Jared Quayle  has 11 points and Stavon Williams has added nine on three quick 3-pointers to lead USU to a 45-31 halftime edge over Fresno State in the first round of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament.
    USU burst out to a 16-2 lead behind six quick points from Gary Wilkinson and a 3-point shot from Pooh Williams.
    Three quick turnovers by the Ags brought the score to 18-8, but Tyler Newbold hit a 3-point shot, as did Stavon Williams to bring USU a 13-point lead.
    The Aggies held a double-digit lead for most of the first half. USU has been assesed nine team fouls to FSU’s three team fouls. George Paul has 19 points and Sylvester Seay 18 to lead the Bulldogs in scoring.
