LETTER: Kappa Delta gets thanks

Editor,

The Child and Family Support Center (CFSC) recently hosted the “Wish Upon a Star” benefit event at the Logan Golf and Country Club. The purpose of this event was to raise money to add on to our existing facilities, which include the shelter for abused and neglected children in Cache County.

On behalf of the CFSC staff, I would like to thank the Kappa Delta sorority for their help with that event. In addition to our recent fund raiser, the women of Kappa Delta have provided ongoing support for the children we serve through monetary donations as well as supplies for our crisis nursery.

Each year Kappa Delta hosts a “Star Search” talent show on campus. The Child and Family Support Center is the lucky recipient of the proceeds from that event. Please support Kappa Delta as they continue to raise money for child abuse prevention. Because of Kappa Delta’s national commitment to prevent child abuse and the helping attitude of the Kappa Delta’s at Utah State, we are able to provide a safe, home-like environment for children during a very stressful time in their lives.

With the continued help of Kappa Delta and many others, we will be able to continue lifting the fear from a small face and replacing it with a smile. For information on volunteering or ways you can help the Child and Family Support Center, please call (435) 752-8880. Thank you.
