Logan City police arrested a 20-year-old Logan resident Sunday for aggravated burglary.

Kyle Waddoups is suspected of breaking into the apartment of a 22-year-old Utah State University student and stealing her underwear early Sunday morning.

Sgt. Bret Randall of the Logan City Police Department said the door of the woman’s apartment was ajar when she returned home. She walked in the apartment and found the man walking down her stairs, holding the stolen items. The man then assaulted her and fled the scene. No one else was in the home at the time.

The woman was admitted to Logan Regional Hospital that morning and released the same day with injuries to her face and neck.

The incident occurred near 400 North and 500 East. In September, the Logan City police received two reports of women’s underwear being stolen from their apartments.

One September victim awoke to find the thief in her bedroom, stealing her underwear. The thief fled the scene.

Nicole Kawakami, a senior majoring in elementary education, said in September, members of her ward for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were warned of someone breaking into women’s apartments and to make sure to lock their doors.

Kawakami said she heard of other women who were robbed near her home at University Pines.

Police suspect a dozen or more unreported incidents have occurred since September.

Randall said, “We encourage anyone to come forward and notify the Logan City police if they have any information.”
