COLUMN: Utilize the chance

Matt Ekins

Students often come to me saying, “But the administration won’t change” or “Nobody wants to do anything about it.”

Well students, you have an attentive ear waiting to hear what you have to say. USU Facilities, in coordination with the ASUSU Ombudsman Committee, are providing a survey allowing students to speak.

The link on WebMail at http://fac.usu.edu/survey.htm leads to general questions addressing topics ranging from landscaping to the classroom environment. The survey also accommodates written comments from students.

It can’t get any easier than just a few clicks of a mouse.

We can also help ourselves. This entails doing the simplistic ideas taught in elementary school. Pick up, clean up, turn off, and take care, to name a few. This would leave more resources available for improving the campus environment, rather than just maintaining it.

I commend Facilities for taking a proactive approach in customer/student service. Hopefully their example will permeate other student services on campus.
