Spring Babies
Baby animals are one of the first signs of spring, and in Wellsville, spring was in full bloom this weekend.
Baby Animal day, held at the American West Heritage Center is a traditional event held each year on Easter weekend. According to the American West Heritage Center, Baby Animal Day is always a favorite for children of all ages.
Baby Animal Day was the first of seven events in the 2006 Festivals of the American West “Heritage Series.
Everyone has the opportunity to pet and holds the baby animals. Baby animal day continues to be the most popular activity, but kids also have the opportunity to participate in the frontier Easter activities.
Children can learn about Native American and trapper crafts and skill and, of course, they can have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny, turtle races, a kid’s rodeo and pony rides.
Children of all ages enjoy wagon tours of the historical site and heritage area, where a variety of food and merchandise vendors display their wares.
