OUR VIEW: Remove clutter, cross spring cleaining off list
Friday marked the first day of spring. Not only does that bring excitement, knowing that finals are quickly approaching but it also brings the added stress of the to-do list growing longer. From final projects, exams and beginning those summer jobs and moving out of the apartment, the list is only going to keep growing. So why not begin now to make things easier for yourself? Why not join the hoards of people and do a little spring cleaning?
Spring cleaning goes back to the time when families were confined to their homes all winter. It was the time they set aside to air out their home, remove the dust and clean out those pesky cobwebs that accumulated over the cold winter.
Why don’t we do the same? We have been confined inside during the terrible Logan winter. Now that the sun is beginning to clear and the cloud of inversion is beginning to lift, we all want to be outside. The sunshine is beckoning us to come out and play, and it will only get worse with time.
Save yourself the time to unclutter your room. Throw out all those things you haven’t touched or used all year. Don’t be a pack rat. Throwing those unnecessary objects out will save you the hassle of moving them out later.
Doing a deep clean of your apartment will save you the problem of adding that to your checklist when apartment inspections begin rolling around. Clean your windows, blinds, the bathroom floor and baseboards. This way you become on top of the game and it is easier and less time-consuming when you have to do it during the most stressful week of the year.
Organize your closet, tackle that pile in the corner of your room where a strange odor seems to be emanating. A little organization may be just the ticket for boosting up those grades and making life a little less stressful as the year comes to a close.
