Aggie senior outside hitter Shay Sorenson recorded a team high 11 kills, but the Utah State volleyball team dropped a five-set heartbreaker to in-state rival Utah Friday, 25-21,10-25, 17-25, 25-23, 14-16.

After winning the opening set, the Aggies struggled against a powerful Utah squad, and the Utes dominated the second and third set. Utah State fought back to force a decisive fifth set, but the late rally came up short as USU fell to 1-1 on the season.

Chelsey Schofield led Utah with 21 kills. The Utes improved to 2-0 after their opening win against Southern Utah. The Aggies fell to 1-1 and will face Southern Utah at 2 p.m. Saturday.
