Gray and Mays shaken up at USC

During the game against the USC Trojans this afternoon there were a few questionable injuries for essential Aggie players senior CB Daniel Gray and senior RB Devante Mays.

“I’ve been told that the x-rays on Gray came back negative so he’s back in the locker room and seems OK,” said Aggie head coach Matt Wells in response to the condition of Gray.

During the first quarter, Gray was injured after tackling USC receiver Steven Mitchell Jr. for a TFL. He was taken off the field on a stretcher but gave a thumbs up during his departure as most of the audience in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum gave him a standing ovation and his teammates rushed to his side.

Wells said x-rays were done on Gray’s hip, neck and chest as a precaution by the doctors.

Mays came out of the game in the third quarter after a 5-yard run with the assistance of trainers. He sat out the rest of the game with an ankle injury and was seen on the sidelines with crutches.

“We’ll have to find out about Mays later tonight or tomorrow from the docs,” Wells said.
