Utah State football player charged with two felony sex crimes
A 19-year old Utah State University football player was charged with rape and forcible sodomy, both first-degree felonies, in the 1st District Court Thursday.
Jamaal Anthony Evans was arrested and booked at the Cache County Jail Wednesday for the incident that allegedly occurred June 17. Evans‘ bond was set at $40,000. While the Cache County Jail has not confirmed whether he has posted that, they did not have a listed inmate under his birthdate.
USU athletics has now suspended Evans from USU’s football team and Eric Warren, a Utah State public relations official, said the university will cooperate fully with the Logan City Police Department and the Cache County Attorney’s Office as they investigate the case.
