NBA Power Rankings – Week 14
1. Golden State Warriors 35-14 SAME
Golden State finished its week undefeated, beating the Lakers, Wizards and Celtics. The team is on a 10 game win streak, the longest of any team in the NBA this season. The Warriors take on Indiana, Philadelphia and the Los Angeles Lakers this week.
2. Milwaukee Bucks 35-13 UP 1
Milwaukee had a great week before faltering on Sunday against the Thunder. Giannis Antetokounmpo was named an All-Star Captain and is starting in the game for the third consecutive year. The Bucks play Detroit, Toronto and Washington this week.
3. Toronto Raptors 37-15 DOWN 1
Toronto had a rough week, losing games to Indiana and Houston while beating Dallas and Sacramento. Kawhi Leonard was named a starter in the All-Star game, marking the sixth straight year Toronto has had a starter in the All-Star game. The Raptors play the Bucks and Clippers this week.
4. Denver Nuggets 33-15 SAME
Denver lost a close game to Utah before finishing its week strong with wins over Phoenix and Philadelphia. The Nuggets take on Memphis, New Orleans, Houston and Minnesota this week.
5. Boston Celtics 30-19 UP 1
Boston beat Miami and Cleveland before losing a close game to the Warriors at home last week. The Celtics take on Brooklyn, Charlotte, New York and Oklahoma City this week.
6. Philadelphia 76ers 32-18 UP 1
Philadelphia beat Denver and San Antonio last week but finished its week with a loss to Denver on Saturday. The 76ers play the Lakers, Warriors and Kings this week.
7. Oklahoma City Thunder 31-18 UP 1
Oklahoma City had a strong week, finishing 4-0 with wins over New York, Portland, New Orleans and Milwaukee. The Thunder play Orlando, Miami and Boston this week.
8. Indiana Pacers 32-16 DOWN 3
Indiana beat Toronto and Memphis last week but lost Victor Oladipo, causing them to slide in the rankings because they don’t have anyone to replace him with. The Pacers take on Golden State, Washington, Orlando and Miami this week.
9. Houston Rockets 29-20 SAME
Houston had a strong week with wins over New York, Toronto and Orlando and a lone loss to Philadelphia. The Rockets play New Orleans, Denver and Utah this week.
10. Utah Jazz 29-22 SAME
Utah had a good week beating Denver then Minnesota twice while only losing to Portland. The Jazz take on Portland, Atlanta and Houston this week.
11. Portland Trail Blazers 31-20 SAME
Portland beat Utah, Phoenix and Atlanta last week with its only loss coming against Oklahoma City. The Blazers have a short week with just one game against Utah.
12. Brooklyn Nets 27-23 UP 1
Brooklyn is 20-5 over its past 25 games, the best 25-game stretch in franchise history. The team went undefeated last week against Sacramento, Orlando and New York. The Nets play Boston, Chicago, San Antonio and Orlando this week.
13. San Antonio Spurs 29-22 DOWN 1
San Antonio lost to Philadelphia before beating New Orleans and Washington last week. The Spurs take on Phoenix, Brooklyn and New Orleans this week.
14. Los Angeles Clippers 28-22 UP 1
Los Angeles had a strong week with wins over Miami, Chicago and Sacramento and its only loss coming against Dallas. The Clippers play the Hawks, Lakers, Pistons and Raptors this week.
15. Minnesota Timberwolves 24-26 UP 3
Minnesota beat the Suns and Lakers before losing to Utah twice to end its week. The Timberwolves take on Memphis and Denver this week.
16. Miami Heat 24-24 SAME
Miami lost to the Celtics and Clippers last week before beating Cleveland and New York. The Heat play Chicago, Oklahoma City and Indiana this week.
17. Sacramento Kings 25-25 DOWN 3
Sacramento lost to Brooklyn, Toronto and the Los Angeles Clippers last week but did manage to beat Memphis. The Kings take on Atlanta and Philadelphia this week.
18. Los Angeles Lakers 26-24 DOWN 1
Los Angeles lost to Golden State and Minnesota before beating Phoenix last week. LeBron James reportedly would like a coaching change for the team, which is something he has wanted with every team he’s played for. The Lakers play Philadelphia, Golden State and the Los Angeles Clippers this week.
19. Charlotte Hornets 23-25 UP 3
Charlotte beat Memphis and lost to Milwaukee last week. The Hornets take on New York, Boston, Memphis and Chicago this week.
20. Washington Wizards 21-28 UP 1
Washington beat Detroit and Orlando last week but also lost to Golden State and San Antonio. The Wizards play Cleveland, Indiana and Milwaukee this week.
21. Dallas Mavericks 22-27 DOWN 1
Dallas lost to Milwaukee and Toronto last week but beat the Clippers and Pistons. The Mavericks take on New York, Detroit and Cleveland this week.
22. New Orleans Pelicans 22-28 DOWN 3
New Orleans started its week with a win over Memphis then proceeded to lost to Detroit, Oklahoma City and San Antonio. The Pelicans play Houston, Denver and San Antonio this week.
23. Detroit Pistons 21-27 SAME
Detroit beat the Pelicans but lost to Washington and Dallas last week. The Pistons play Milwaukee, Dallas and the Los Angeles Clippers this week.
24. Orlando Magic 20-30 SAME
Orlando beat Atlanta to start its week but then lost to Brooklyn, Washington and Houston. The Magic take on Oklahoma City, Indiana and Brooklyn this week.
25. Memphis Grizzlies 20-30 SAME
Memphis lost to New Orleans, Charlotte and Sacramento last week but finished strong with a win over Indiana. The Grizzles play Denver, Minnesota, Charlotte and New York this week.
26. Atlanta Hawks 15-33 SAME
Atlanta beat Chicago last week while also losing to Orlando and Portland. Trae Young put up 30 points and eight assists against Portland while only taking 15 shots in the game. The Hawks play the Clippers, Kings, Jazz and Suns this week.
27. Phoenix Suns 11-41 SAME
Phoenix had a terrible week, losing to Minnesota, Portland, Denver and the Los Angeles Lakers. The Suns take on San Antonio and Atlanta this week.
28. New York Knicks 10-38 SAME
New York stunk last week, losing to Oklahoma City, Houston, Brooklyn and Miami. The Knicks play Charlotte, Dallas, Boston and Memphis this week.
29. Cleveland Cavaliers 10-41 UP 1
Cleveland split games with Chicago last week while also losing to Boston and Miami. The Cavaliers take on Washington and Dallas this week.
30. Chicago Bulls 11-39 DOWN 1
Chicago lost games to the Hawks and Clippers while splitting two games with Cleveland. The Bulls play Brooklyn, Miami and Charlotte this week.
