A (mostly) spoiler-free Stranger Things 3 told by GIFs

So you already watched the entire new season of “Stranger Things 3” in one day and now you’re depressed because you missed the fireworks on the Fourth of July.

No need to worry. Below is a review of the third season, all told in GIFs. 

While this review is mostly spoiler-free, but there’s still potential spoilers, so be warned.

So sit back, grab some Eggos and enjoy the ride.

In the first episode of the new season, the same familiar faces are back in Hawkins, Indiana, but now they’re a little more grown up than you remember. The hormones are running high, especially between Mike and El.

It seems that everyone is interested in getting a boyfriend/girlfriend. Everyone except Will, that is.

Hopper decided he’s done with the teen romance, as well.

The new Starcourt Mall is all the rage in Hawkins and the kids participate in a “Material Girl” shopping montage that would make Madonna envious.

Steve has a new job at the mall working with Robin at Scoops Ahoy.

Meanwhile, something weird is happening to Billy and some rats.

Jonathan and Nancy are busy at “The Hawkins Post” following a disturbing story featuring an old lady in town.

Anyone else get Bathilda Bagshot vibes from these scenes?

The other characters come up with a plan to decide what happened to Billy.

The Scoops Troop, consisting of Steve, Robin, Dustin and Erica, discover some foreign interference in Hawkins.

They pay for it.

Loopy Robin and Steve are some of the best characters, though.

Meanwhile, a monster from the upside down has been growing in Hawkins. The creation of this season’s monster is pretty gross.

Meanwhile, Hopper and Joyce have some fun at the carnival with some Russians.

The season climaxes in a battle with the mind flayer, who now has Doc Ock appendages.

Besides lots of sci-fi action and ‘80s vibes, Stranger Things has become known for its poignant emotional scenes, as well. The last scenes of this season do not disappoint in that aspect.

This season lived up to many of my expectations. The series continues to rely heavily on its time period while introducing a little more horror, humor and drama each season. Let us know what you thought of the season in the comments below.
