Two USUSA election positions remain open after deadline passes

The current Utah State University Student Involvement and Leadership elections are still taking applications for Art Senator and Education Senator after the deadline passed with no one declaring candidacy for either position.

The application deadline has been extended until Feb. 7 for these two positions. The original deadline closed on Jan. 25. 

Currently, there is not a set date for a list of declared candidates to be published.

Rachel Arner, director of Public Relations and Marketing, said this will not delay the 2021 USUSA election process. She added that this situation is not surprising due to the all challenges that have resulted from COVID-19. 

Arner encourages students from the two schools to apply for the two positions that are open. 

“It is an experience of a lifetime, whether a person wins or not. I’m very excited for this USUSA election year and what good it can bring,” she said. 

The USUSA elections are currently set to be held toward the end of February.
