USU Presidential Search Committee seeks input at meetings

The Utah State University Presidential Search Committee is looking for input from students, faculty, staff, stakeholders and the general public at six meetings that will be held in the coming weeks. According to the press release on Utah State Today, this input will be used to create a position announcement for recruiting candidates.

Students can provide feedback for the search on Jan. 26 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Eccles Conference Center Auditorium.

The meeting for faculty and staff to provide input will be on Jan. 25 from noon to 1:30 p.m., and the general public can provide feedback at the meeting on Jan. 26 from 5-6:30 p.m. Both will also be held in the Eccles Conference Center Auditorium.

USU stakeholders, USU Uintah Basin stakeholders and USU Eastern stakeholders will each have meetings reserved for their feedback as well.

“After the position announcement is finalized, the committee will go to work, utilizing a search firm, recruiting candidates, screening applications, and conducting interviews with a number of potential finalists,” the press release said. “The next public announcement from the committee will be when it recommends three to five finalists to the Utah Board of Higher Education. It is anticipated that a new president will be selected by the summer of 2023.”

Those who can’t attend these sessions can submit feedback to usupresidentialsearch@ushe.edu or online at ushe.edu/usu-president-search-feedback.
