AGGIE CAR SHOW SLATED TO SHOWCASE CLASSIC CARS

If you have an interest in classic cars, Weber County Aggies are in the driver’s seat, ready to show Utah a good time.

Utah State University students will benefit from the 2nd Annual Aggie Car Show slated July 28 at the Weber County Fairgrounds in Ogden. The Weber County alumni office has asked local car owners to show off their classic wheels to raise scholarship money for USU students from the Weber county area.

The result: a great variety of classic cars and lots of entertainment. 4-H clowns will treat children to face painting and balloon animals, and Humvee rides will be provided by the Military Science Program from Utah State University. The “Elite Gymnastic Academy” of Ogden will perform for guests and the show will be emceed by the popular “Bubba Brothers.”

Concessions will be provided by the Golden Spike Event Center. Congressman James Hansen will be on hand to present an award for his favorite car; Representative Lou Shurtliff and Weber County Commissioner Ken Bischoff will do the same. As always, the public will be invited to cast votes for their favorite vehicle and the winning car will receive the coveted “People’s Choice Award.” “This is a very important fund-raising event,” said Scott and Trudy Young, Weber county alumni co-chairs.

“A college education is invaluable and we want to give students from Utah and the Weber County area support by generating funds for scholarships. The larger the turnout at the show, the more scholarships we can make available.”

The car show runs Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $3 for adult; children 12 and under are free. If you are interested in showcasing your car, if you have any questions, or for donation information, call Trudy Young at (801) 399-8200 or email her at trudyy@ext.usu.edu.
