Aggie legend Jaycee Carroll collaborates with Post Malone in fashion show appearance
Utah State basketball legend Jaycee Carroll recently returned from a five-day trip to Paris, France, where he partnered with hip-hop and country music star Post Malone during the launch of Malone’s new clothing line Autin Post.
Malone hosted the launch of his new western clothing line in Paris shortly after his Sept. 3 concert and in anticipation of the upcoming Paris Fashion Week, slated to take place from Sept. 29 to Oct. 7.
“Because of that timing, right before Paris Fashion Week, he launched his line, and I was asked to go and wear some of the clothes and ride a horse in and do some fun things like that,” said Carroll in an interview with The Utah Statesman.
The fashion show was hosted in the Hôtel de Maisons, an 18th-century private mansion located in the heart of Paris.
Carroll first got involved with Malone through cattle ranching, which is the origin of their recent fashion collaboration.
“Over the last four weeks, there’s been some different photo shoots and photography, taking some imagery and stuff to be able to go online, able to be used in marketing as things move forward,” Carroll said. “We were shooting shots for our website, the cattle website and then at the same time, for the clothing line. And everything got put together so quickly that they had one size: his size.”
Carroll, who is approximately the same size and build as Malone, was able to step in seamlessly.
“Honestly, for me, that side of it was pretty simple,” Carroll said. “There’s a whole team that’s doing a fashion line, and they worked really hard, and they put it all together.”
Carroll’s main role came towards the end of the show when he entered the runway wearing part of Malone’s new clothing on the back of a horse.
The famed fashion magazine GQ listed Carroll as “a friend of Posty’s” in their coverage of the Parisian event.
“Following the final look—which featured a tall cowboy hat and a massive buffalo-hide coat—a friend of Posty’s rode into the mansion on a majestic bay horse, a moment soundtracked by the band America’s 1971 song ‘A Horse With No Name,” GQ stated.

Carroll, a 2021 Utah State Athletics Hall of Fame inductee and all-time leading scorer for Utah State basketball, originally got involved with Malone through cattle ranching. Carroll has been in the ranching industry since his 2017 purchase of River Meadow Ranch, a 100% full-flooded Japanese wagyu ranch located in Wellsville.
“We collaborate with him. He’s an owner in our beef company,” Carroll said. “That’s where I started interacting in that space with him.”
Malone’s interest in country living has grown in recent years, as evidenced by his recent surge into country music, and has expanded him into the world of cattle ranching. Carroll and Malone became connected through Carroll’s position in Three Seasons Wealth, a full-service private wealth investment firm located in downtown Salt Lake City. Carroll currently serves as a financial advisor to the firm.
“Through my contacts and the people I work with at Three Seasons Wealth, we found some like-minded people that also had an interest in ranching,” Carroll said. “So, 18 months ago, we created a working partnership collaboration to help us all reach our goal of having a farm-to-table beef company. And with that, Post had already had interest in it, and he came on board.”
Malone’s ranch, entitled Slickhorn Ranch, is a 6,000-acre ranch based in Utah, where Malone resides. The exact location of the ranch within the state is unknown.
“I got into ranch life the way I did music. It felt real. It felt raw. It felt like me. It’s a way to be myself,” reads the company’s website, attributing the quote to Malone. “We’re gonna do things our way. Respect the land, care for the animals, do things right, even when no one’s watching. No shortcuts, just hard work. And beef that hits different.”
After a runway appearance fit for a popstar, Carroll returned from France shortly after the event, arriving back in Cache Valley on Sept. 4.
