Utah State’s club hockey team recorded a season-high in goals Saturday during a 14-2 victory against the Brigham Young University Cougars at the Eccles Ice Center in North Logan.

The Aggies’ offensive outburst was aided by four-goal efforts from forwards Brian Gibbons and Cooper Limb.

Gibbons completed his hat trick in the second period by stickhandling out of the corner and picking his spot right between the goalie’s legs.

Additional scoring for Utah State came from forwards Stu Hepburn, Matt Hamilton and Devin Holmes. Defenseman Aaron Ward scored his first goal of the year.

Goalies Nathaniel Cabrera and Taylor Flandro split time for the Aggies to give both goalies game experience. They combined to make 26 saves on 28 shots.

The Aggies head to California from Thursday, Jan. 24 until Sunday, Jan. 27 to take part in the San Jose Classic.
