Aggies prep for Huskies

By TYLER HUSKINSON

The Utah State Aggies (3-1) face their first out-of-state opponent this season when they host the Northeastern Huskies (2-1) from the Colonial Athletic Conference tonight.

The Aggies will be looking to avenge a tough road loss to the Huskies from last season. The Aggies held an 11-point first half lead, but they were unable to hold the lead over the Huskies. The Ags couldn’t miss in the first half as they shot 50 percent from both the floor and 3-point range in the first half. The Aggies struggled greatly in the second half however, as they shot 37 percent from both the floor and 3-point land.

The Huskies took their first lead of the game at the 9:46 mark of the second half, but the Aggies would keep things close and even held a one point lead with 2:46 left in the game off a 3-pointer from then-junior Brian Green. Then-senior guard Matt Janning led the Huskies with 14 points, and then-junior forward Nate Bendall led the Aggies with 15 points on a perfect 4-of-4 shooting from the floor and 7-of-7 shooting from the free-throw line.

The Huskies fell hard to the Siena Saints at home one week ago 84-68 and they will be looking to bounce back against the Aggies. The Ags will be looking to keep their perfect home record in-tact.

The two teams square off at 7:05 p.m. from the Spectrum. The game will be televised on CW30.
