Hear one of the hottest country bands in the nation the Nashville Tribute Band September 9 at the Kent Concert Hall, 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $9 for students. NTB has produced hits for Lady Antebellum, Leann Rimes, Jessica Simpson, SHeDAISY, Little Big Town, Be Be Winans, and many more. They will perform songs from their just-released CD The Work: A Nashville Tribute to the Missionaries.
Sept 9th One-man-band Scott Olsen will perform from 6 to 8pm at Pier 49 San Francisco Style Sourdough Pizza. Scott has an amazing repertoire with a wide variety of styles. Pier 49 San Francisco Style Sourdough Pizza is located at 99 East 1200 South. There is no cover charge; everyone is welcome.
Sept 10th Jazz duo J&L Jazz will perform from 6pm to 8pm at Pier 49 San Francisco Style Sourdough Pizza. If you haven’t hear them before, this is your chance. These are fantastic musicians who play a nice variety of familiar tunes ranging from old standards to modern jazz.
9/11 Day of Service. Commemorate the 10th anniversary of September 11, 2001, though service! For 24-hours, 9 a.m. 9/10/2011 to 9 a.m. 9/11/2011, we’ll be doing service projects across the valley and we need volunteers. Come to the Historic Courthouse 9/10 at 9 a.m. to sign up for a project or submit a project of your own at http://www.911dayofservice.blogspot.com/. Check out the website for more details.
Sept 10th Walk to END Alzheimer’s. Join this year’s walk starting at USU track where you can register to participate in a 5K Run/Walk or choose to loop the track. Walkers who create teams or sign up individually may do so at alz.org/utah. Runners are invited to participate in the 5K Run along side the Walk. The run fee is $20. To register as a runner you may go directly to the Web site at www.alz.org/utah click on Walk to End Alzheimer’s and go to the Logan walk. The sign up form is on our page. A reception with music for the University Libraries exhibit “Frances Winton Champ — Cornerstone of Cache Valley Musical Culture.” Acivities begin at 4 p.m. on Sept 12th, with selections of Champ’s original compositions, both published and unpublished, to be performed by USU music department musicians. The reception is free and open to all.
A wedding planning event with vendors of every kind that can help with all aspects of your special event on Saturday, Sept 17th. Admission is free and parking is available in the terrace. Thousands of Dollars in prizes will be given away. Fashions shows will be at noon and 2:30 PM. Come anytime from 10:00 AM to 5 PM.
