BLOTTER: Police news from the Campus and Community

Nov. 22, 2002

Police responded to a traffic accident in the west stadium parking lot. One vehicle hit another vehicle, causing it to roll onto its side. No injuries were sustained in the accident. A report was filed with police.

Nov. 24, 2002

Police assisted Logan City Police on a vehicle stop near campus. Logan City Police stopped a vehicle with occupants who had been drinking alcohol. Since the driver was not intoxicated, he was given a warning by Logan City Police for the alcohol offense.

Nov. 25, 2002

A student reported receiving many harassing phone calls at his on-campus residence on the evening of Nov. 24. Police are investigating.

Police received a report of a sexual assault that occurred on campus. At this time, the victim only wanted to report the incident. No further action is currently being taken.

Nov. 26, 2002

A student reported a possible Internet fraud concerning an out-of-state company he had hoped to work for. Police are investigating.

Police responded to the Biology Building on a suspicious incident involving a candy machine. Police are investigating.

Nov. 27, 2002

An employee called and asked police to check his office to see if the heater had been turned off. The heater was turned off, and the room was safe.

Police responded to a report of an audible alarm coming from the fire panel in Old Main. When police arrived, they discovered the alarm was a trouble alarm regarding equipment in the fire detection system. Electronics personnel were notified of the problem.

Nov. 28, 2002

Police were called to the Rocky Mountain Dairy Improvement Affiliate on a broken water pipe. The broken pipe left one-half inch of water in a laboratory. Facilities and plumbing were called to repair the pipe and remove the water. The extent of damage to the equipment is unknown.

Twenty-seven percent of blotter entries involved false fire or intrusion alarms.

Dec. 3, 2002

Zack King reported that his thick, black wallet was stolen two weeks ago. He said the wallet contains his identification, and he would appreciate any information on the matter. King can be contacted at 764-3577.
