BLOTTER: Police news from the campus and community

April 5, 2003 Logan police received a call from a complainant stating there are numerous items in her garbage that she didn’t put there.

Police responded to Mountain View Tower on the report that some residents were drinking alcohol in their dorm. The individuals stated they had not been and did not smell like they had. There was a fruit-scented air freshener.

Police responded to an elevator alarm at Old Main. They released the individual who was stuck in the elevator.

A teacher from the Edith Bowen Laboratory School called police to report a loud buzzing sound coming from the main office area. Police found the noise to be coming from some electronic equipment in the office. Police turned it off.

April 6, 2003 A caller reported to Logan police a male individual driving past her residence repeatedly. She wanted to know what she could do about stopping it.

April 8, 2003 A caller stated to Logan police that another driver drove between her and another vehicle.

An individual reported to Logan police that the woman in front of her fell asleep or fainted in her car at the stop sign. The complainant was concerned for other drivers.

April 9, 2003 Police responded to Aggie Village to investigate some writings on the sidewalks. The writings were to notify residents of a meeting.

A student reported to campus police that an individual had kicked his vehicle, causing a dent.

April 10, 2003 Police received a report of a suspicious package that was left unattended in a university parking lot. When police arrived, the package had been removed.

Police received a report of an abandoned backpack in the Old Main meter parking lot. The backpack had a sign on it that said “Attack Iraq.” When police arrived, the backpack had been removed.

A caller stated to Logan police that there were some sheep that look far too woolly in the area behind Rocky Mountain Pawn and Title.

A woman told Logan police that a person spit in her car while driving.

An individual stated to Logan police that a robin bird keeps flying and colliding with the window of her residence. April 11, 2003 A woman reported to Logan police that there was a stray cat in her yard that is eating birds from her bird feeder.

April 12, 2003 Logan police received a call stating there are dogs in the park near the “No Dogs Allowed” sign.
