BLOTTER: Police news from the campus and community

September 12

*USU Police responded to Valley View Tower on a telephone offense. An individual reported receiving prank calls. Police are investigating the matter. *USU Police responded to the Taggart Student Center Bookstore for a theft report. The investigation is continuing. *A student made a delayed bicycle theft report to the USU Police stating her green GT mountain bike was stolen while it was parked on the north side of the Widtsoe building on September 10. The bike was not locked at the time of theft.

September 13

*USU Police assisted Logan City Police on a search for a suspicious person who was lying down in the cemetery. The individual had no shirt on, was wearing orange pants and was not moving. Upon police arrival the individual got up and walked into Aggie Village. *USU Police responded to a bicycle theft report. The bike is a women’s bike with 18 speeds and is light green and turquoise in color and was locked at the time of theft. *A student reported to USU police that her vehicle was broken into and her purse was stolen while it was parked in the parking lot east of Summit Hall. Police are investigating. Entry was made by breaking a window and the purse is described as a tan knit purse. *USU Police responded to the parking terrace on a report of a group of people smoking something suspicious on the second level. No one was found in this facility. September 15

*USU Police responded to the Junction on a report of someone hiding in the bushes. The area was searched, but no one was located.

September 16

*USU Police and Logan City Animal Control responded to a stray cat that was cornered in an office in the BNR building and had bitten an individual. Animal Control had temporary control of the animal before it escaped by jumping from a second floor window. *It was reported to USU Police that a set of keys was lost in the Business building. There were 5 keys on a Coca Cola key ring.

September 17

*A university employee found some money near the central campus area and reported to USU Police. The money was turned over to the police to secure until the owner inquires about it.

September 18

*A student reported to USU Police that she received a threatening and profane telephone call. Police are investigating. *An individual called Logan City Police with questions regarding a car that has been parked along the roadway for several months.
