BLOTTER: Police news from the campus and community

Sept. 26

* USU Campus Police received a report of a bicycle theft. The bicycle was taken from the bike rack at Old Main.

* Campus Police responded to the Taggart Student Center on a report of a stolen fiberglass cow. The cow was later located and returned.

* A student reported to campus police the theft of his bicycle from the engineering bike rack. The bicycle is described as red in color. It is a full-suspension bicycle with a black plastic rack on the back and yellow tie down cords. It has 21 speeds.

* Campus police responded to a bicycle theft report at Aggie Village. The bike was taken between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. It was taken from in front of the Geology Building and was not locked at the time.

Sept. 27

* Campus police observed an individual jump from a tree onto a tent located on the Quad. The individual fled the area when he saw police. The individual did not cause any damage to the tent but left behind a shoe. If the individual would like his shoe back, contact campus police.

Sept. 29

* Campus police took a delayed report of three men acting suspicious on Sept. 19 in Wasatch Hall. One of the men told the complainant he was a police officer. Police are attempting to identify the individuals.

* Campus police received a delayed report of a man throwing himself onto a vehicle while it was stopped at the crosswalk on the west side of the Taggart Student Center. The vehicle was damaged by this person. Police are attempting to locate the offender.

Sept. 30

* Campus police received a report of a hit and run accident that occurred on Sept. 29, at 10:24 a.m. in the crosswalk between the Taggart Student Center and the Institute. A cyclist was hit by a vehicle. If any one saw this accident, please contact campus police.

* A student reported the theft of his silver and black Trek bicycle from the bike rack on the southwest side of the Taggart Student Center. Police are investigating.

Oct. 2

* Campus police arrested a non-student for exposing himself and touching females in the Merrill Library. The incidents occurred over a six month period beginning in April of 2003 through Sept. 2003. The suspect also admitted to other incidents of lewdness that have not been reported to the police. Campus police are looking for any information involving these incidents including possible victims or witnesses. Please call Lt. Steve Milne at 797-1939 if you have any information involving these incidents.

* Campus police received a report of a lost pager between the Spectrum and the HPER Building. The pager is a blue Motorola Metro with a black carrying case.
