BLOTTER: Police news from the Campus and Community

Oct. 4, 2002 A university employee reported to USU Police a suspicious voice message on an Internet site. The message, which sounded like a terrorist threat, turned out to be a promotional advertisement for a movie.

USU Police responded to a shooting at the IHC Health Clinic. Several units from three different agencies were already on the scene and had the suspect in custody. A Logan police officer had been wounded and was transported to Logan Regional Hospital by ambulance.

USU Police cited and released an individual for intoxication at the USU vs. BYU football game.

USU Police received a report of juveniles throwing rocks at cars that were parked in the Stadium parking lot during the USU vs. BYU football game. Three juveniles were questioned and then released to a parent.

Oct. 7, 2002 USU Police reported the theft of a welder from the construction site on the southeast side of the Engineering Building. Police are investigating the incident.

Oct. 10, 2002 A student reported to USU Police the theft of a “Big Blue” mascot costume from the USU vs. BYU football game. The costume was taken from the corner of the playing field immediately following the game. Police are investigating the incident.

An individual reported to the Cache County Sheriff’s Office a portable CD player and a wedding ring were stolen from her vehicle.

The Cache County Sheriff’s Office reported a 5-year-old had a marble stuck in his throat.

Logan Police reported the birth of a little boy.

Logan Police received a delayed report of the theft of a fishing pole – June or July.

An individual called Logan Police complaining of pain. His finger hurt.

A Maverik employee reported to North Park Police that sheep were running in and out of traffic.
