Breaking: Emergency Alert
An emergency alert was sent out on Friday afternoon about the rapid spread of COVID in Utah.
The alert, sent out in english and Spanish, warns that COVID-19 is spreading rapidly, with a record number of cases.
According to the alert, every county should be considered a high transmission area. Hospitals are getting overwhelmed, and social gatherings should be limited to 10 or fewer.
Soon after the alert was sent out, Utah Gov. Gary Herbert tweeted that, while the Utah mortality rate is still lower than the national, we must not become numb to what this means for our communities.
Utah currently has 112,932 positive cases.
