BREAKING NEWS: assistant professor charged with unlawful sexual conduct

An assistant professor in USU’s College of Education was placed on administrative leave in relation to criminal charges, according to Tim Vitale, USU’s director of Public Relations and Marketing.

Chief Kim Hawkes of the North Park Police Department said the county attorney filed charges for unlawful sexual intercourse against Dicky Ng, the assistant professor.

Hawkes said an officer on routine patrol discovered a vehicle parked on the side of the road with the windows fogged near the mouth of Green Canyon at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Dec. 10.

Hawkes said the officer made contact with the driver and determined from his driver license that he was 17. The other individual was reportedly Ng. The minor was later released to his parents, Hawkes said.

Vitale said the university became aware of the charges on Jan. 10 and immediately placed Ng on paid administrative leave. University administrators will watch Ng’s case in court and respond accordingly, Vitale said, but for now, Ng will have no contact with university students.
