Coach Raegan Pebley and her lady Aggies suffered a massive beating last night, losing to Western Athletic Conference first placers Boise State University Broncos 80-38.

Sophomore guard Danyelle Snelgro offered 10 points to the total score, the single USU player in double digits. Senior forward Brittany Phillips got close with 8 points, but it wasn’t enough to help the Aggies break through the Broncos’ fast-paced offense.

Every player made it off the bench last night, and only seven posted points on the scoreboard. Game play last year against the Broncos also ended in annihilation of USU 70-38. With a 22.6 field goal percentage, the Aggies took the ball to the hoop but allowed too many shots to waver.

This loss marked the 100th game played by USU since the program started up again for the 2003-04 season.

Senior forward Brittany Hagen shared the anniversary with her 100th career game with the university.

Halftime came slowly with the Broncos leaving the Aggies in the dust with their leading score of 36-9. Pebley received an indirect technical foul because freshman center Nicole Johnson was not in the playbook. This brought BSU’s senior guard Nadia Begay to

the free-throw line.

Bronco sophomore forward Rebecca Kepilino scored 22 points for her team, along with two other players who posted double figures. Even with a 47.5 field goal percentage, BSU managed to stay ahead of the Aggies the entire game. They also pulled out 16-23 from the free-throw line.

Unable to regain any kind of confidence, the Aggies seceded and completed the game with a disappointing loss, bringing their WAC record all even at 3-3. The Broncos now go to 6-0 in the conference, allowing them to keep their spot atop the WAC standings.

USU is set to face the Rainbow Wahine of Hawaii University at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum on Jan. 27.

Hawaii matches USU with their 7-11 overall record, and they also stand at 1-5 in the WAC.
