CACHE VALLEY WELCOMES SUMMER CITIZENS

Summer has arrived and Utah State University‚s Summer Citizens Program and the Cache Valley community welcomes senior citizens from various Sunbelt states to the program as 2003 festivities begin. As part of the Summer Citizens Program, senior citizens are invited to attend a smorgasbord of activities and cultural events hosted by Utah State and the City of Logan throughout the summer.

According to Rachel von Niederhausern, Summer Citizens Program coordinator, the program is also for full-time Cache Valley residents as well. Local seniors citizens interested in making new friends and continuing their education are encouraged to become involved. Seniors can choose from more than 40 customized Summer Citizens courses taught by Utah State professors and local experts. Participants don’t need to worry about exams, grades or writing papers and courses range from social dancing to U.S. Intelligence and National Security Policy.

A USU Summer Citizens card enables its holder to register for summer courses, park in campus lots, use amenities on campus and provides discount tickets to local entertainment.
