• Christmas Trees go on sale November 21. Come support the Forestry Club and get a tree for the Holidays. Trees can be purchased at the Natural Resources Patio.

• Flu shots available at the Student Health Center, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., $20. Available to anyone.

• Sub for Santa Stuff-A-Bus, Nov. 14 – Nov. 30, Bring unwrapped clothes and toys, non-perishable food, and money. Donations help the Sub for Santa Program. TSC Plaza

• USU Cycling Jerseys order form & design at www.usu.edu/cycling. Jerseys $55 and racing bibs $70. Orders and prepayments are due by Nov. 22, turn in order forms & payment at Al’s Cycle, Joyride Bikes, and Sunrise Cycle.

• Join the A-Team! Facilitate new student orientation this summer and be a mentor to incoming freshmen next fall. Applications are available in TSC 310 and are due December 1st.

• USU ORC Yurt reservations begin Nov. 29, 10 a.m. For information call 797-3264 or www.usu/orc/yurt Payment is due at the time the reservation is made. Bring your USU ID for the student rate.

• Japan Club New Year’s theme party, Japanese style, Dec. 2, 7:00 p.m. Student Living Center.

• USU’s Creative writing contest. Cash awards for poetry, fiction and non-fiction essays. Undergraduate and graduate categories. Deadline: Feb. 3, 2006. Info. http://english.usu.edu then click on creative writing contest link.

• Volunteer snow shovelers are needed to shovel snow for Logan’s elderly and disabled. Want to help out? Email SHOVELLOGAN@gmail.com to sign up.

• Applications are available for membership in the USU chapter of PINNACLE, the national reentry honor society. Students should be 26 years of age or older, a junior or senior, have had a 5-year or more gap at some point in their education, have a minimum 3.0 overall USU GPA, be involved in campus and/or community activities. A one-time national membership fee of $20 is required. Contact the Reentry Student Center, TSC, Room 315, 797-1728. Deadline December 7, 2005.

• SOSNR (Student Organization for Society and Natural Resources), lazer precision and USU community Credit Union are sponsoring a fundraiser to help SOSNR members attend an international conference by recycling used printer and ink-jet cartridges. Please recycle used cartridges with us. Look for black recycling bins in your building.

• To warm heads, feet, and hearts, students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to give to the Mitten Tree sponsored by the USU Women’s Center Advisory Board. Donations of NEW mitten, hats, scarfs, and socks for Cache Valley infants and children are welcomed. Items may be delivered through Dec. 8, to the USU Women’s Center, TSC 315 or TSC Carousel Square. • A Women’s Street Smart Self Defense Seminar will be offered in Logan December 3, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. with an hour break at noon for lunch. Seminar will be held at the dance studio in the basement of the Alta Manor Suites. Dale Caldwell from Salt Lake City with 27 years of experience will be the instructor. Fee for the seminar is $65 per person. Space is limited and pre-registration by December 1 is required. To register, call 752-0808 and ask for Beverly at extension 304.
