January 13-Last day to add classes without an instructor’s signature-Peter Brienholt Concert, Institute Friday night activity, 7:30 p.m., Kent Concert Hall. Tickets $1 at the Institute Bookstore or at the door. Everyone welcome

EVENTS:

•Full Moon Cross-country Skiing. The USU Outdoor Recreation Center is offering a cross-country ski trip by the light of the full moon on Saturday, January 14.  Meet at the ORC at 8pm, then carpool from there. Bring your own skis, or rent in advance.  Call the ORC to sign up, or with questions, 797-3264.

•Religion and Life, speaker Mark Williams, January 17, 12:30 p.m. – 1:20 p.m.

•Martin Luther King, Jr. Candlelight Vigil, January 17, 7:00 p.m. TSC Sunburst lounge. Free and open to all. Sponsored by the Black Student Union and the office of Multicultural Student Services.

•”Footsteps to friendship”, Institute Mens & Women’s association open house, January 19, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Institute Cultural Center.

•Institute Friday night activity, Swing dance, January 20, 8:00 – 11:00 p.m. Free.

•The Utah State University Women’s Center Advisory Board is seeking nominations for the “Women Over 65 Achievement Awards.” Women eligible for recognition must reside in Cache Valley, be 65 years of age or older, and have made outstanding contributions to the advancement and equality of life for women on a local, state, or national level. Guidelines are available at the USU Women’s Center, Taggart Student Center, Room 315, or call 797-1728.

•Applications are available for Pinnacle, national reentry honor society. The deadline is January 31. Students should be 26 years of age or older, a junior or senior, have had a 5-year or more gap at some point in their education, have minimum 3.0 overall USU GPA, be involved in campus and/or community activities. a one-time national membership fee of $20 is required. Reentry Student Center TSC 315, 797-1728.

•Come help to form a USU chapter of Students against Sweatshops. Meetings start Spring semester. Contact rachelc@ext.usu.edu for more information. Organize for social and economic justice.
