• Japanese Club New Year’s theme party, Japanese style, 7 p.m. Student Living Center

• All DRC students taking finals with our facility need to schedule between Dec. 1st and Dec. 7th with the testing coordinator.

• The USU College Democrats will be in the TSC collecting signatures for letters in opposition to a bill which freezes student aide

• MSA Christmas Caroling at Sunshine Terrace.: Dec. 3rd, 12:30-1:30 pm, Meet at 2nd Stake Center

• USU Middle Eastern Dance Club annual show, Caine Lyric Theatre, 28 West Center Street, Dec. 3, 7:30 p.m. Featuring Ansura as guest artist. Tickets $10 in advance and $15 at the door.

• Ceramics Guild annual sale, Decemeber 7 & 8, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., TSC International lounge.

• Christmas trees for sale on the Natural Resources Patio. $20 for a 6-7 foot tree. Come support the forestry club and buy a tree for the holidays.

• Open Registration for Spring Semester 2006 begins at the Institute. Registration is in the Study Area on the third level. You can also register on line at www.lds.org/institutes.

• Flu shots available at the Student Health Center, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., $20.

• USU ORC Yurt reservations, for information call 797-3264 or www.usu/orc/yurt. Payment is due at the time the reservation is made. Bring your USU ID.

• SOSNR, Lazer Precision and USU Community Credit Union sponsoring a fundraiser. Recycle used print and ink-jet cartridges in black bins.

• Come help to form a USU chapter of Students against Sweatshops. Meetings start Spring semester. Contact rachelc@ext.usu.edu for more information. Organize for social and economic justice.

• Applications available for membership in the USU chapter of PINNACLE, the national reentry honor society. Contact the Reentry Student Center, TSC Room 315, 797-1728.

• Donate new mittens, hats, scarves and socks to the Mitten Tree, benefitting the Bear River Head Start Program at a variety of locations in the valley. Contact the Women’s Center for more information, 797-1728.

• The Friends of the Utah Avalanche Center in Logan annual fundraising dinner party December 3rd. Bridgerland Park Center, 920 North 200 West. The event will include dinner by the Indian Oven,live music, and another great raffle and silent auction. Raffle and silent auction items include ski and snowboard gear, snowmobile gear, avalanche equipment, outdoor gear, food and more. Tickets are $20 in advance and are available at The Sportsman and the USU ORC.

• Come join the Cache Valley Folk Dancers for their monthly ‘first saturday’ Contra Dance, December 3, 290 North 400 East, in Logan. Beginner’s and families are welcome – all dances are taught. Dancing begins around 7:30, going until 10:30 or 11. Music this month will be provided by Leaping Lulu and the dances will be called by Kay Forsyth and other talented callers. A $5 donation is requested at the door.

• USU Ecology Center welcomes Dr. Jon Swenson, scientist from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences. Two lectures present The first is titled: “Growth and reproduction in brown bears: a life history perspective” Dec. 7, 6:00 p.m.NR Bldg, room 105. The second lecture, entitled “Harvesting bears: do we understand what we are doing?”, Dec. 8, 3:00 PM, NR building, room 105. All are welcome to attend. Information www.usu.edu/ecology
