Art Guild sponsors trip
The Utah State University Student Art Guild is sponsoring a trip to San Francisco, March 31 through April 4.
On the trip, students will have the opportunity to go to gallery openings, visit art museums, meet new people and experience San Francisco culture.
The cost for the trip is $170 and a $50 non-refundable deposit is due as soon as possible. A sign-up list is posted on the Art Guild bulletin board on the second floor of the Chase Fine Arts Center. Seats for the trip are limited, so interested students are encouraged to sign up soon.

Utah Democratic Primary Tuesday
The state of Utah will be holding its Democratic Presidential Primary Tuesday from noon until 8 p.m.
There are six locations in Cache County for individuals to cast their ballot. Voting can be done at the Utah State University Merrill Library, the Logan City Library at 255 N. Main St., the Hyrum City Library at 83 W. Main St., The North Logan Library at 475 E. 2500 North, Providence Library at 15 S. Main St. and at Richmond City Hall at 6 W. Main St.

Engineering Week events scheduled
Calculator quick-draw and professor look-a-like competitions will help the Society of Women Engineers determine the “Geek of the Week” during Engineering Week, Feb. 23 to 27.
E-Week begins Monday with free Aggie Ice Cream at 11 a.m. on the third floor of the Engineering Building and continues throughout the week finishing up with a banquet honoring outstanding engineering students and faculty on Friday at 6 p.m. in the Taggart Student Center Ballroom.
Engineering students are invited to a free lunch at noon on Wednesday on the third floor of the Engineering Building where they will be given a chance to meet the dean, associate deans and department heads.
The “Geek of the Week” competition is just one of the many club-sponsored events taking place Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Other contests that evening will take place throughout the building including a pinewood derby race, mini-catapult competition and robot competition.

Printmaker to visit USU
Printmaker Alfredo Benavidez Bedoya is the next guest in USU’s Visiting Artist Program, a series in the department of art. Bedoya will be on campus March 1 to 5.
A public lecture is part of Bedoya’s schedule, he speaks Tuesday, March 2 at 7 p.m. in Eccles Conference Center, Room 216. During his lecture he will show slides and discuss his artwork. Following his lecture he will show examples of original prints.
All Visiting Artist Program activities are free and open to the public. The program is supported by a grant from the Marie Eccles Caine Foundation.
Bedoya is a printmaker from Buenos Aires, Argentina. His work has appeared in numerous exhibitions including the second International Print Biennial ARTE Buenos Aires in Mercosur, Argentina, the fifth International Print Biennial of Sapporo, Japan and the 11th Latinoamerican Print Biennial of San Juan, Puerto Rico. He has received numerous awards, including a fellowship by the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation.
