College of Education announces contest

As part of Education Week, the College of Education and Human Services is sponsoring an art and writing contest. This is an opportunity for students to express themselves creatively through drawing, painting, writing, sculpting or any other medium.

Those entering the contest should create a piece portraying how their Utah State University education will allow them to help others. For example, students might write a poem on what it means to be a teacher, or submit a picture of themselves helping others in a pacticum or internship.

Expressions that have already been created may be used if they relate to this theme.

Entries should be turned into the dean’s office in the Eccles Jones Education Building by Saturday. The Education Senate will judge the pieces, and prizes will be awarded at the end of Education Week. Winners will receive gift certificates to the USU Bookstore and a T-shirt.

For more information about the contest, contact Shauna Wight at sswight@cc.usu.edu.
