Students reminded to vote

Students are reminded to vote Tuesday between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Location of polling places can be found on maps throughout campus and in the first floor of the Taggart Student Center. Mayoral candidates are Doug Thompson and Darla D. Clark. Candidates for Council Seat No. 4 are Stephen Thompson and Merrill Russell. Candidates for Council Seat No. 5 are Tami Pyfer and Gina Wickwar.

Financial planning to be held

Free financial planning for women is available on the second Wednesday of each month from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Family Life Building, Room 318 and from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the USU Family Life Center located at 493 N. 700 East. New licenses to be issued

Utah’s Department of Public Safety, through the Driver License Division has begun issuing new digitized driver licenses and identification cards.

The Logan office located at 1055 S. Legrand St., will be closed Thursday to implement the new system and train personnel.

The office will re-open on Friday and begin issuing the new licenses and identification cards.

The new licenses will not be instantly issued, as in the past, since they bear a digitized bar code that must be processed at a different location.

A temporary license will be issued which bears a computer-generated photo.

Finished licenses will be mailed one week to 10 days after the application has been completed.

Veterans Day Program held Friday

The Tabernacle Concert and Lecture Series presents a Veteran’s Day Program Friday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m., which will be held at the LDS Tabernacle. The public is invited and admission is free.

The Veteran’s Day Program will feature the following: Will Kesling and the Utah State University Chamber Singers, Dan Stowell and the Logan High School Concert Band, Logan City Chief of Police Richard Hendricks, and Logan City Fire Chief Jeff Peterson.

There will also be video excerpts of Chase Neilsen’s saga as one of James Dolittles’ raiders who bombed Tokyo in 1942.
