Utah Statesman: Why did you decide to come to USU?

Matthew Eyre: Because of their behavioral psych program.

US: What is your life motto?

Eyre: Behavior is a function of its consequences.

US: What is your personal opinion on rain?

Eyre: It belongs mainly on the plain in Spain.

US: What is the biggest risk you’ve ever taken?

Eyre: Probably getting married, but that worked out. Now I have three kids.

US: Do you have any pet peeves?

Eyre: People that do not have a very strong supporting reason for their beliefs.

US: Do you have any hobbies?Eyre: I like rollerblading, hockey, football, drawing and art. Almost photo, but I’m colorblind so that only worked in black and white.

US: What is your most prized possession?

Eyre: I’ll say my wedding ring. That sounds like a good answer.

US: What is the craziest thing you’ve ever seen on campus?

Eyre: Probably freshmen running to class.

US: Describe the best day of your life.

Eyre: Graduation following grad school.

US: Have you ever had any serious injuries?

Eyre: My left lung partially collapsed, they don’t know why; and once I ripped the tendons off my left knee when I was rollerblading.

US: How would you describe your spending habits?

Eyre: I spend way too much. I need to learn how to budget. I need an accountant.

US: How do you feel about fried foods?

Eyre: They’re all good, the quicker we kill ourselves off, the better.

US: Where is the last place you traveled to, why?

Eyre: The Oregon Coast, on vacation. We went there because it’s green.

US: How big is your family?

Eyre: I’m the oldest of 10.

US: When you were growing up did you bring a lunch to school or did you eat school lunch?

Eyre: Most of the time I brought a lunch. I had a Pac-Man lunchbox.

US: Do you speak any languages other than English?

Eyre: No, not worth mentioning. I used to speak some German, but not since I was 5 or 6.

US: How do you feel about thrift stores?

Eyre: I avoid them at all costs. It goes back to that budgeting and spending thing. If you’re going to spend money, you might as well spend a lot.

US: Do you have any opinions on music genres?

Eyre: I love punk music, but I don’t care much for R&B.
