Utah Statesman: Why did you come to USU?
Riki Richards: I knew I wanted to do something in agriculture and this is a really good agriculture school.
US: What’s your favorite thing about USU?
Richards: The people. Everyone here is really nice.
US: What’s your least favorite thing?
Richards: I don’t like in the winter when it gets really cold. It’s pretty Arctic.
US: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Richards: New York would be fun. I’ve never been, but I just think it would be an exciting city to live in.
US: Who is your hero?
Richards: My mom. She had a stroke a few years ago and she managed to make a full recovery. I know it was really hard for her.
US: Do you have and guilty pleasures?
Richards: Food – I love chocolate.
US: What’s the best prank you’ve ever pulled?
Richards: In high school, some people pretended that I had wrecked my friend’s truck. We told people it was pretty bad and I would have to go to jail.
US: What are you most afraid of?
Richards: Roller coasters. I’m afraid of heights, so those and me aren’t a good mix. I’m been on a few and I just wasn’t comfortable.
US: If you could change anything in your life, what would it be?
Richards: That’s kind of a loaded question. I guess I’d like more money. I’d like to be done with school so I can get a good job.
US: Describe yourself in four words.
Richards: Hard working, dependable, organized and nice.
US: Have you ever had to wear a uniform to work?
Richards: Oh yes, I have. I used to work at Malt-O-Meal, the cereal company. I was just a grunt worker running errands and stuff. I had to wear a uniform then.
US: What was last thing you downloaded onto your computer?
Richards: Some family photos.
US: What would you do with an unlimited supply of monkeys?
Richards: I don’t know. Probably plant a bunch of trees for them to climb in.
US: Do you have any quirks?
Richards: All my books have to be facing the same way and in order from smallest to biggest.
