The Series is  over,The ending was   sweet:For once the Yankees Tasted defeat. The Fat Lady sang,She finally came,In the bottom of the ninth,In the very last game.It was a Schilling end To a fabulous season,A year to remember For a number of reasons.Barry was Barry, And his season was greatArrogant? Maybe, but He was good at the plate. This season was sadWe had to say good-byeTo Tony and CalAs we tried not to cry.Over 3,000 hitsAnd countless games,They ride into the sunset.Destination: Hall of FameThanks for all the memoriesAnd for playing with a grin. It’ll be a while ’till we seeTwo players this good again.A-Rod got paidHe hit 50 home runsBut playing for Texas Could not have been fun.McGwire may retireThat’s the news todayThe best home-run hitterTo ever come our wayThe Braves made it to the playoffsFor the 10th season straightThey departed without a ringAs is usually their fate.Seattle won a 116 During the regular season,But they struggled in OctoberFor some unexplainable reason.Their fall set the stageFor another Yankee sweep,But Arizona stood it’s ground – It’s starting pitching much too deep. Now the Yankees knowWhat if feels like not to win.If only they’d got to face Byung-Hyun Kim with two outs again. But Yankees’ fans, fear not.Your team will soon be back. Like cockroaches they’ll return, To give it another crack.
