Coppermill will offer dinner mixed with murder and charity

Cynthia Harmon

For more than 15 years, the dinner theater production Hunt Mysteries has supplied audiences with a combination of musical selections, family-centered humor, audience participation and a hint of murder. This year is no exception as the comedic cast presents their upcoming production of “A Wacky Witch’s Wedding.”

During the production, guests dine while contemplating solutions to the mystery of a witches’ potion gone terribly and unexpectedly wrong. Cast members aspire to present murder, mystery and wedding mayhem all in one night, thriving on the suspense of whether the wedding will take place “without a witch” as the Web site describes.

Guests also have the opportunity to question the “surviving” characters one-on-one, connecting with their inner Sherlock Holmes or Nancy Drew and piecing the clues together to submit solutions to the wedding disaster.

After death and dessert, a final solution to the crime is revealed in a humorous presentation of suspect and motive.

In addition to presenting an entertaining evening, the comedic cast takes on a serious cause for charity, donating a portion of the performance’s proceeds to the Utah chapter of the Lupus foundation in correlation with Utah Lupus more than over 1.5 million Americans. For this purpose, $2 of each ticket sale will go towards the Utah Lupus Foundation on Oct. 6.

Logan performances will be located at The CoppperMill Restaurant at 55 N. Main for Oct. 6-7. Additional performances will be held at Doug’s Spaghetti House in Ogden Oct. 9-30, excluding Sundays. Ticket prices typically range from $35-40. For more information go to www.huntmysteries.com.
