Eccles Ice Center Skating and Hockey Programs

The Eccles Ice Center provides hockey and figure skating programs for all ages and abilities. All programs, except general public skating and broomball, include skate rentals. Rental Hockey equipment is also available for a fee, for programs that require safety gear.

BEGINNERS FIGURE SKATING CAMP

Monday-Friday, June 18-22 from 8:15-11:15 a.m. Cost is $59 per skater with a 10% discount for additional family members who register. This is a terrific opportunity to introduce yourself, or your children, to the wonderful world of figure skating. All ages and abilities welcome.

BROOMBALL (New LOW PRICES)

Brand new to Cache Valley, broomball is the “alternative sport on ice”. It’s like hockey, with a ball and NO SKATES, just shoes. Broomball is a great workout and a lot of fun for everyone. Come play every Friday through the month of June from 5:30-6:45 p.m. Cost is $4.50 (helmet, stick and pads included). Helmets are required. A waiver must be signed before playing. A legal guardian/adult must sign for participants under the age of 18. Groups of 12 or more can play for just $3.50 each.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE

The George S. Eccles Ice Center is offering scholarships to figure skaters and hockey players between the ages of 7-16 years old, at any level. The Merit and Eligibility Scholarships are funded by the Mariner S. Eccles Foundation. Merit Scholarships are available to figure skaters and hockey players at either beginning or advanced levels. Eligibility Scholarships are available for both figure skaters and hockey players who are interested in pursuing the sport, but cannot afford coaching and practice time. No skating experience is necessary for Eligibility Scholarship applicants. Come pick up an application today. Application deadline is Friday, June 15, 2007.

SUMMER GROUP RATES

From now until August 31, summer group rates apply: $2.00 admission, $0.75 skate rental per person. Groups must consist of 20 or more people to qualify. Come book your group activity today.

GENERAL PUBLIC SKATING

May 29-June 30: Monday-Friday 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (except June 4-8) and Saturday 1:30-3:30 p.m. Evening skating is available every day but Sunday, but times vary. For information call our schedule line at 752-1170, speak to a staff member at 787-2288 or visit www.ecclesice.com. Everyone is welcome to skate at these sessions. Bring your family, friends or a date. Cost is $4 for adults, $3 for children eight and younger and seniors 55 and over, plus $1.50 skate rental for all ages.

FAMILY NIGHT

Bring your family and friends to Family Night, every Thursday night, during our general public skate sessions, and up to 8 people can skate for only $12, including skate rental!

BIRTHDAY PARTIES

Book your party during any general skate session! $115 base price includes up to 10 guests and two adults, a party room for one hour, a birthday cake or pizza, soft drinks, decorations, party goods, party treat bags, skating time and skate rental. More options are available, too. Parties require a $35 deposit. No outside food or drink allowed. If you choose to have the party catered, please book your catering order through the rink.

LEARN-TO-SKATE CLASSES

May 29 – June 19: Tuesday classes (4:45 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.) and Thursday classes (4:15 p.m., 4:45 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.). Four-week session for $35, including badge and skate rental. All ages and abilities. Hockey Learn-to-Skate classes are available during regular Learn-to-Skate times. Register 24 hours or more in advance to avoid a $5 late fee. A 10 % discount is available for additional family members who register at the same time.
