Editorial cartoons
Dear Editor,
My name in Nathan Rose, and I e-mailed last week, but didn’t get a response. I drew editorial cartoons last spring semester for the statesman, and I am curious if you’d like me to continue submiting work. Vickie published pretty much everything that I gave her, which was good and bad. Over the summer I’ve been working for the Herald Journal doing a regular strip, and a few one-time deals in some magazines. I really enjoy drawing, and especially the getting paid for it part. However, I will be honest in saying that I’m not going to draw any cartoons unless you will consider them for publication. So, I’m wondering if you’d like me to submit anything or if I should focus on cartooning for the other papers and magazines?
I like doing editorial cartoons, but I also have a collection of single panel cartoons submited to magazines similar to the style of “Rubes.” If you are interested in those…
Lastly, I also spoke with Vickie about writing humor articles during the spring. She asked me to submit them, but I never gave her a substantial amount. I have 6 or 7 written now, and I am curious if you’d like some of those as well.
Thanks for your time. I look forward to hearing from you. And by the way, the first edition of the Statesman looked good.
