Fuentes named top aggies

Julie Ann Grosshans

Utah Statesman: You had a pretty successful game against Idaho State, how did it feel?

Jose Fuentes: It felt real good. The O-line gave me good timing and my receivers were coming up with catches. So we were moving the ball and scoring points. It was real good to get a win.

US: Of the remaining games, which one are you looking forward to the most?

JF: Probably BYU. It’s an in-state rival, we’ve got them up here and I really want to beat them. It’ll be fun.

US: What do you enjoy doing in the off-season?

JF: Playing video games [and] hanging out with my friends. I just started fishing a little and a little bit of golf. [I also enjoy] spending time with my fiancée Nancy. She’s living with my folks now [in California].

US: What has been your favorite moment as an Aggie so far?

JF: Just getting the chance to play. Now that I’m playing, it’s been a lot of fun out there.

US: What do you think of USU getting a women’s basketball team? Will you attend the games?

JF: I think it’s great for the school. I thought it was kind of weird when I graduated [from high school] and came here and we didn’t have one. It will be good for the school to have both a men’s and a women’s team. I will [attend games]. I go to all of the events I can make it to.

US: What is your

dream car?

JF: A Ferrari. Probably red, maybe red, because I always see those on TV.

US: What has been the best movie you’ve seen recently?

JF: The Count of Monte Cristo. That’s my favorite movie. It’s awesome.

US: How has it been this season playing without Emmett White?

JF: It’s been different. I knew I could count on him for a lot of things. He was a great player for us. I’ve adjusted. I know he’s not going to be there and do the things he did. A lot of people are picking it up. It’s

different.

US: What do you plan on doing after college?

JF: Hopefully own my own business – a sports bar or something like that if I’m lucky.

US: I read your brother Richard is also a quarterback, do you have anything else in common?

JF: We’re both athletic; we both love to play basketball and video games. We’re real competitive in everything we do.
