Get off the ground with USU’s String Academy
Utah State University’s String Academy is a laboratory teaching program for USU string music majors. The USU students received teacher training courses with nationally recognized Suzuki pedagogues Carey Cheney and Judy Bossuat this year. With the USU students as instructors, the String Academy provides private instruction from beginning to artist level in violin, viola and cello.
To ensure continued opportunities to work with renowned teachers, the String Academy plans a unique fundraising event that combines music, breakfast and hot air balloon rides.
Hot air balloon tether rides, provided by Robert Haupt, and breakfast will be offered Saturday, June 7, from 7-9 a.m. at Lundstrom Park, 1600 E. 1150 North, Logan.
Breakfast is $5 per person or $20 per family, and balloon rides are $5 a person. The young string students who study with the Sting Academy will be on hand, providing music for those attending. Haupt will donate the proceeds of the balloon rides to the String Academy.
