Health fair coming to USU
The Student Wellness Center will sponsor a health fair April 20 in cooperation with A-Day on the southwest corner of the Quad from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Center hopes to reach as many students as possible by involving various community- and campus-related health vendors, said Jaclyn Gardner, student intern for the Student Wellness Center.
“This is an awesome time to get to know your health better,” Gardner said.
Some organizations scheduled to attend include representatives from doctors’ offices, Planned Parenthood, massage therapists, the American Red Cross, IHC Logan Regional Hospital, GNC Nutrition Center, Standard Optical, Utah State University Campus Recreation, USU Nutrition Clinic-Dietetics Program and USU Disability Resource Center, Gardner said.
The Nutrition Center will have a relay race, and the Student Wellness Center will have a drinking and driving simulation, Gardner said.
The organizations will offer activities and free items, Gardner said. The Family Massage Associates will give out a free massage certificate, GNC and USU Campus Recreation will hand out T-shirts and Standard Optical will offer free eye exams coupons. There will also be free food, music, samples, information and a chance to get educated on various topics and a free body fat analysis from IHC/ Logan Regional Hospital, Gardner said.
