History of Logan City Limits

On April 14-16,  Aggie Radio is hosting the annual Logan City Limits music festival.  

Aggie Radio station manager Sydney Ho and Utah State University senior recounted Logan City Limits’ mission to help inform the local community of USU students and Cache Valley’s music community.  

She said in years past, the festival was held in downtown Logan where students could engage with the community and local artists.  

Logan Sampson, an Aggie almunus, attended Logan City Limits in 2018, when the event was held at the Cache Venue.  

“I loved going downtown and hearing all of the different bands. I remember the event being right before finals and it was just a really freeing event,” Sampson said. “We went and saw the Fairpark Twins and to this day they are someone I listen to all of the time.  

Due to coronavirus regulations, Logan City Limits changed to a streamed broadcast and limited entry event in 2020. 

“It was really hard to figure out a way to coordinate the event with covid regulations, but with social distancing and masks, the event was still able to go on,” Ho said.  

Ashley Komiko, a USU junior engineering student, attended the 2021 event with the regulations.  

“Amid all of the chaos of covid I got really depressed, but when my roommates said that we should go to this event I was so excited because I love live music,” Komiko said. “It really helped me cope with everything that was going on that year and I’m really looking forward to attending this year.” 

Due to the CDC lifting coronavirus regulations this year, the event coordinators said they are excited to open the event to all those who love music. No masks, limited numbers or social distancing is required.  

“We are so excited to bring to music to the community and have fun together listening to local bands,” Ho said.  

This year, Logan City Limits is also looking forward to their feature band, Ritt Momney, in the Nelson Fieldhouse at 8 p.m. on April 8.
